GB v Ireland croquet results - News from Scotland

Great Britain beat Ireland by 12 matches to 2 (with one unfinished) in the annual test match held at Meadows West on 30-31 August 2008.  This event saw the first presentation of the salver donated by David Maugham, in memory of his father Ian, as the trophy for the match.  Keith Aiton received the champagne given by Chris Dent for the first standard sextuple peel completed on Scottish soil.  Ian Burridge performed the second sextuple, and David Maugham had two attempts in which he did the six peels but didn't peg out in the same turn.

The results are on the SCA website:

Hopefully an Irish report to follow when the team arrives home.
