The 2012 South Leinster Open Championship was played on 14/15th July on the lawns in Newcastle, Co. Dublin. Andrew Johnston had a narrow win over Danny Johnston in the final, while Nathaniel Healy won the third place playoff, narrowly beating Kieran Murphy. Full report by Kieran.

Mark won their invitational tournament last month, and placed first in their recent "USA vs Ireland" Challenge. Patsy Fitzgerald and Ed Cunningham were also invited to play. Although not an official international match, I am pleased to report that "Ireland" won by 5 matches to 4.

Herbert Park Croquet Club

Our 2012 season starts at 2pm on Saturday March 31. We would welcome new members. Herbert Park Croquet Club has 2 croquet lawns next to the tennis courts in the beautiful Herbert Park in Ballsbridge Dublin 4. All equipment is provided and the annual membership fee is 70 euros - which covers use of the courts ,without extra charges, any time the park is open. Coaching is also available for beginners. Herbert Park is a friendly informal club with about 40 members ranging from beginners to experts.
